OMG. I hope that I am not the only one in saying that last nights Mavericks game was one of the best ever. Even though they got down by 29 points I was like they could still come back there is plenty of time left. When they went on that run in the early third quarter, I could hardly sit still. My niece says I am too loud and that I should not yell at the tv. I just tell her to be quite. I can't be quite especially when the game is good or I don't like the call. I will admit that the Mavs didn't play well in the first half. They stepped it up though and ended up winning. I was so happy.

I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating the New Year tonight. Let me say again that I am sorry I have not posted more frequently. My family is here so to spend more time with them I cut the computer out of my routine. Talk to you in 2009. Be safe.

I had a great Christmas I hope you did too. If you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you had a good holiday with your family. The only game news I have for you today is that I am playing Heavenly Sword. It is a good game. Although I do have problems controlling the arrow when you use the movements of the controller. I actually think this is cool but frustrating. I will have to buy this game. To tell you the truth I didn't think I would actually like it so much. Hopefully I will get to post before New Year but if I don't I hope you have a Happy New Year.

I am very frustrated right now. I am playing Silent Hill: Homecoming and it is annoying me. Am I the only one that thinks they should give more ammo and health. As far as Silent Hill games go it is very good. So far I have not had any trouble with it being too dark or anything like that. I just wish you could carry more ammo or they had one that was unlimited. Seriously, some of those monsters kick my butt. The nurses some times slice and dice me to pieces.

Like most Silent Hill games, I can't play it for too long without getting a headache. This one isn't as bad as the others. Although I am not fond of the way you enter the other realm in this one. I wish they had kept the touch the mirror or symbol thing. I do like the way you can use the pipe to open some things. I remember in the other games I was like come on I have a crow bar I could pry this open. I haven't finished it yet but I would have to say this is one of my favorite Silent Hill games.

Oh my goodness, I just finished Tomb Raider: Underworld. I must say that I am a little surprised at the way they ended it. Amanda helps Lara. In the end Amand just leaves, so she will probably be around in the next game too. I am confused as to why Lara just threw Thor's hammer. Couldn't she have killed Natla without throwing the hammer at her? Seeing the end makes me wonder what they will do next. Lara knows her mother is dead so no more searching for her. I guess I will have to wait and see what they do. I am still buying this game after the holidays though. I have every PS game for this series. Maybe when I buy it I will go through and actually look for all the secrets and relics. While I found some, I really didn't look this time because I wanted to see how it ended.

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Recently I have been playing Tomb Raider: Underworld. I like this game a lot. Right now I am renting it since it is so close to the holidays and I have presents to buy. I am glad that they went back to mainly exploring, solving puzzles. Don't get me wrong I like the fighting but sometimes there is too much of it.

Playing the game is fun, even if I think the character is on crack sometimes. I mean who else but Lara would try those jumps or walk on poles. One of the things that bothers me is that some of the interaction is gone. If you have played the other games you know what I mean. In them you could open some lockers and drawers. I wish this one had that in it. That is basically all I dislike about this game. I haven't yet finished it. I have been too busy to play it much but I think I am almost finished. The only problem is when I finish it I will have to wait and see if they come out with another one. Hopefully they do. This is one of my favorite series.

I have finished Prince of Persia on Friday. While I liked the game, the ending really sucked. I know they had to leave it open for the next game but come on. If you don't know at the end, you can just leave Elika dead or revive her by destroying the tree. Why would you do that when you spent all game basically knowing that is what her father did. Yes it would have been sad if she remained dead. The dude, they never gave his name would not do that. He isn't the type. Yes he was probably attached to Elika but he would know she wouldn't want Arhman (forgive me if this isn't how this is spelled) to escape. Even though I am disappointed with the way the game ended I will probably play the next game if there is one. Hopefully if there is a next game the ending will not suck.

Friday, December 12, 2008

As you know from my earlier post, I like the new Prince of Persia. I haven't finished it yet but I am close. I do have one or two things that bothers me though. One of the things that bothers me is that the Prince can't get stronger. If you play games you know what I mean. In some games as you go along the character you play gets stronger with experience or whatever.

The second thing that bothers me is Elika's fighting. The woman can throw you long distance but has to be close to attack enemies. That gets on my nerve. I would have liked if they had made her be able to attack at greater distances as you get more light seeds. Maybe in the next one, if there is a next one. I hope there is. I like the direction this game is going in.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Oh my God! I finally got my PS3. What can I say I am very impressed. Right now I am renting Prince of Persia. I must say that I am very impressed with the game. To tell the truth I am still in the beginning of the game. It isn't very hard.

What shocked me is that in this game you can't die. Elika, the woman who is with you, just catches you and places you down on the last safe spot you were on if you fall. So far neither of them is whiny, thank goodness. I do really hate whiny characters. There are some funny comments if you keep pressing the button to talk to her. I just might have to buy this game.

Sunday, December 07, 2008

I know this would never happen what with copy rights and game propriety but I think it would be really cool if someone could come up with a game system that played all the games. It would cost a lot. Just think of it, you wouldn't have to own three or four game systems to play your favorite game.

There is no way the big three in game consoles would give away the secrets to there games. They probably wouldn't want a system that played all types of games. Hey they could do it together and share the profits. I know I am living in a fantasy world but stranger things have happened. This strange thing will not happen though. It is just a thought that I have sometimes.

I apologize for this post before hand. I need to vent today. Several weeks ago I told you my washer broke. Well I just found out yesterday that the part had just came in. Now I am waiting for the stupid repairman to come fix the washing machine. Normally I have great respect for repair people. There jobs can't be easy dealing with cranky people like me. Yet I am very frustrated. I have been without a washing machine for almost a month. It is such a pain to lug all of my laundry to the laundry mat. The warranty company and the repair service company needs to come up with a way to speed up process of getting the problem taking care of. I understand that they warranty company has to approve ordering the part but haven't they heard of a fax machine or a phone? Hopefully, it will be fixed Monday.

Great game last night between the Mavericks and the Suns. The Mavs lead all the way. I really like when the game goes as good as it did last night. All the Mavs played very well. While I the Suns are not my favorite team, they are okay. I do love when the Mavs beat them though.

Now for some game talk. I was watching my friend's kid play Lego Batman on XBOX 360. I think this is a cute game. Plus it really isn't a violent game because the characters are mad out of Legos. It isn't so kidsy that an adult would not want to play it.

With Resident Evil 5 coming out next year on PS3, I have been thinking. I have played every single Resident Evil game there is for the PS game consoles. Well with the exceptions of the first person shooter one also the first one. I do believe that one was for the PS1. It is hard to find.

I wish they would redo it. Short of like they redid TombRaider, with TombRaider Legend. I think it would be cool, to use today's technology to breathe life into the game that started it all. Like I said I haven't played it but I have read all about it. It was the second game that got me hooked on this series. The makers of Resident Evil probably have better things to do than to remake old games. I don't know the process that would involve. If they redid the second one that would be alright too. In each game you get to explore the environment more. I really like that. That is one of my wishes for a future game.

Last night I watched a great game between the Mavericks and the Clippers. The Clippers actually led most of the game. I love the Mavericks and I am a fan if they win or lose. It seemed to me that some of the players were having an off game. It happens to the best of players.

Let me tell you when the Mavericks were down by ten late in the fourth quarter I got kind of worried. I do believe that the Clippers' biggest lead was 15 at some point in the game. A few stops and some bad passes let the Mavericks back in the game. Of course, I can't forget some clutch free throws by Dirk Nowitzki. It was a little over a minute let and Jason Terry made a basket to bring the Mavs within one. I was on my feet yelling and hoping for a stop. If I remember right it was a bad pass that Jason Kidd picked off. JJ Barea shot a three and the Mavs went up by two. They really need to stop doing this to me. Nine seconds left but the Clippers could not get the shot to go in. I do love nail bitters but it seems to me that the Mavericks have had a lot of them this season.

Anyone can tell you I am not a New York Giants fan. In fact I really dislike that team. That being said I want to vent about the Buress situation. If you don't know Plexico Buress shot himself in the leg I do believe Friday.

A lot of people on the web are clamoring for the Giants to get rid of him. They could bench him or suspend him for being a fool. However, I don't think any team would trade for him. There are several reasons for that. One is he has to heal from his gunshot wound, which will probably take several weeks. Another is his foolish actions. Apparently this isn't the first fool thing he has done.

In my opinion, the Giants should just suspend him. It might not be fair but if you are a professional athlet you are held up to a higher standard than other people. Maybe suspending him will make him see that his childish behavior has to stop. Come on man, you are a role model for little kids. This isn't the type of behavior you should be showing them.

Today I want to talk about a game that I really like to play. It is really fun. I wish there was another one. Sphinx and the cursed mummy. It is a PS2 game if you don't know. A lot of the time you play as sphinx one of the heroes.

Sometimes you play as the mummy. That is when it gets funny. In order to get some places you have to be smashed, set on fire and electrocuted. When the mummy gets set on fire he swats at himself trying to put out the fire. You use the fire and electricity to solve puzzles. Poor guy, at least he is already dead. At the end of the game, it doesn't end in a happy ever after way. You are left with the feeling of 'okay what happens next'. I would definitely play a second one if it ever gets made.

Just today I found out that they make a movie out of the God of War games. I know this isn't exactly game news but I thought it was cool. The only thing that I was able to find out was that they were in the beginning stages of the movie. I am not sure that there is a script yet. I do believe they have narrowed down the producer or director. My question is how are they going to find someone for the Kratos part.

It is just amazing how they take a video game and make it a game. They did it with Tomb Raider. I really like that movie. I do believe they are making a movie from the Prince of Persia games. If I remember right Orlando Bloom might be in it. I really don't see how they can get a whole movie from the game. If I am not wrong they might be making three movies. I could be wrong so don't quote me. While I love the Prince of Persia games, I am not sure I will want to go see the movie. It will depend on how it is done.

Today I am going to spend they day shopping around for the best price for a PS3. I am buying it from an actual store, instead of online. No more waiting for someone to ship it. A good price is great, but one of the things I really want is a service plan. If something goes wrong with it I want to be able to replace it without paying for a brand new one.

I am not sure if I want to get a bundle or just the console. I am not sure there is a bundle with a game that I want. I guess I could trade it in at some game store. That seems like too much bother though. I might not even get it today, who knows. If I am not wrong the 160 gb one is out now. That gives me even more choices. However, I don't think I need 160 gb. So many options, not enough money to buy them all, lol.

I really loved the Cowboy game yesterday. I am very glad that they won. Hopefully, they make the playoffs. The next few games will tell. Tonight I get to watch the Mavericks too. This is turning out to be a good holiday.

I am so happy sometime next week or in the next few days I will be get my PS3. This is really good timing. I want to play the new Prince of Persia game. Although I am not sure it will be as good as the last one, I will play it. The thing that concerns me is that their is a sidekick so to speak. I don't know, maybe it will make for really good fighting scenes. Hopefully, the new hero will not be as whiny as the old one was. That was one of the things that really bothered me about the old games.

Happy Thanksgiving! This will just be a short post. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and are with who matters most to you. Have lots of cooking to do so not much time to type. I will be glad when I can rest later after all the cooking is done. After I cook, all I want to do is rest and watch the Cowboy game. Maybe take a nap later.

Mavericks won last night. I am very happy. However, this was one of the games that I didn't get to see. From the clips I saw it was a good game. The Mavs were down for most of the game but game back in the fourth quarter.

Cowboys play tomorrow. I am so excited. I love watching them on Thanksgiving. I hope they win. I will be watching even though I have to get up early and cook.

God of War I & II. I really love these games. They are gory but enjoyable to play. I have been all the way through both of them several times.

What I want to talk about is the mini games on God of War II. Some of those took me forever to finish. For example there is one where you have to be perfect. I forget if it is no hits or just you don't die. I blocked it out because it was so hard. To be honest, I was about to give up on it when I finally did it. I do believe it took me a day or two to get through just that one test.

I like how when you finish the mini games it gives you extra costumes. If I am not wrong and thinking of some other game, I got a fish costume the first time I finished the mini games. Kratos looks really funny in it too. Usually I try to get a hundred percent on games even the mini ones. This one I was very happy with what I got the first time I completed them.

I was thinking the other night about the first video game console I ever had. That was an Atari. I do believe we had three or four games. We thought that it was so cool.

Out of all the games we had we played Pac-man the most. It was fun seeing who could beat who when playing against each other. Of course, after awhile we had to limit the time one of my sisters played. She could roll it over and over if we let her. For those of you who don't know it only went so high before going back to zero. It was either 999999 or higher. It has been a very long time since I have played the original Pac-man.

Looking back, I can't believe how far video games have come since then. We played on a joystick back then, now there are controllers, guitars, steering wheels, and mats you control with your feet. It makes me wonder what games will be like ten or twenty years from now.

I had to buy a new av cord for my PS2. This is one I had hooked up to the extra tv. It was actually a av cord that could hook up to a xbox or a game cube. I bought it seven years ago. I think that I got my money worth.

The reason I had to buy a new one was because the old one was stepped on. The part that plugs into the PS2 broke off. Got to go. The Cowboys are playing and I have to watch. Right now they are winning. I always say that the only score that counts is the one at the end of the game.

Some times I really hate technology or it hates me. I am talking about memory cards for my PS2. I have three of them. Usually I have no problems with them.

However, in the past several weeks they have been messing up. The stupid things eat my data or erase it. I don't know how it does it. Like yesterday, I was playing a game before work and saved it. There was plenty of space on it and it actually saved.

When I got back home, and tried to load the game the data was not found. I check the memory card and all of my data for that freaking game was erase. Grrr! I was almost finished with that game too. That is the third time it has done that to me in two weeks. I really don't understand. How can it just disappear! Stupid memory cards.

Friday, November 21, 2008

Let me apologize before hand. This post is not going to be about video games or sports. I need to vent. I don't mean to offend anyone of you work in any of the fields I will be mentioning.

I really hate dealing with warranty companies. The stupid washer broke about two weeks ago. Called the warranty company and they sent someone out about four days later. The guy looked at the washer and said he needed to order a part. He said, it is going to take five to ten days to get here.

That was okay. I could have dealt with that. I called yesterday to see if the part was in yet. Well the stupid people had not ordered the part yet. They said they needed authorization from the warranty company. Do they know how to use a phone? I know that the warranty company probably has a fax machine. They could fax the stupid documents. However, it is apparently company policy to mail the documents. Is it company policy to make customers angry?

I know they have procedures they have to follow. Do these procedures have to take forever? As it is I probably will not have a stinking washer until after Thanksgiving. I hate having to go to laundry mats. GRRR.

Yippee. Mavs won last night. In my opinion they are playing better than they have been. This year started out not so well. Maybe they have worked out the kinks. Only time will tell.

Oh my goodness. I was surfing the web last night and discovered that there was a Hot Shots Golf game for the PS3. I love that game. It is called Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. I love to see how many characters I can unlock by myself without cheating. It is also fun to beat my friends at the game. This is another game I am going to have to buy. Thankfully, it is already out and maybe I can get a used one. Usually I don't trade in my games. Mainly because most of the games I own are ones I like to play over and over again.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

This is so unfair. I just found out that the PS2 version of Tombraider: UnderWorld will not be out until January. Don't know why it has a separate date, but this sucks. Maybe it takes more to decrease the graphic quality. I don't know that much about video game development. All I know is that I love to play them.

I just remembered another game I wanted to play on PS3. What is even better is that it is already out. Heavenly Sword. The game looks really neat. It is nice that there is another game with a woman as the main character. Hopefully, I will be able to get a PS3 in a couple of weeks. There are so many games that I want to play and I am anxious to get started.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

I am so mad. Tombraider: UnderWorld is out and I don't have my PS3. The seller won't answer my emails. I need my PS3!!!

I was so looking forward to playing the new Tombraider game on the PS3. For right now I will have to settle for renting it and playing it on my PS2. The game will look so much better played on a PS3. Whenever I do it a PS3, Tombraider: UnderWorld will be the first game I buy. Unfortunately, where I live I have to wait until Friday to rent the game because that is when the video stores put out their new games.

Monday, November 17, 2008

No video game talking today. Yesterday I was very happy to watch two amazing games. The first one was the Mavericks versus the Knicks. I'll be honest with you and say at times that I was worried that the Mavs wouldn't pull this one out. They trailed most of the game. Yet was able to tie it at the end of the fourth quarter. Actually, the had a chance to win it in the last seconds of the game, but the shot didn't go in. Once overtime started they took the lead and never looked back. Both teams played very good though.

Because of the overtime in the Mavs game, I missed the first possession that the Cowboys had. This was one game I was really anxious for the Cowboys to win. It wasn't because the season rested on it. It was because they were playing the Redskins. The Redskins scored first. That made me very nervous. However, the Cowboys answered with a score of their own. At half time, the score was 10-7. My throat hurts today because of how much I yelled at the tv. The Cowboys' defense did a great job and not allowing another touchdown by the Redskins. In the fourth quarter the Cowboys scored again. With a stop by the defense, they ran off the clock. Cowboys ended up winning 14-10. That made my day.

Sunday, November 16, 2008

You might think this is funny but I can't use that guitar on Guitar Hero. It is sad my friend's son is great with the guitar and he is only seven. He plays on hard all the time. I am not really a big fan of the game but it is fun every once and awhile. When I try to use the guitar I am really bad. I am better if I use the control.

I am not an expert in it at either one. I can barely do medium on my best days. If I use the guitar I am booed off the stage before I reach the middle of the song. One of the things I like about the game is that you can choose what your player looks like.

While that is cool, I think it would be even better if you could design your own player. Sort of like you can create your own avatar on the computer. I don't know if that is possible but I think that would be a great way to personalize Guitar Hero.

Just wanted to say that AHS lost last night. It was a great game though. They had a great season even if it ended early.

Today I want to tell you about one of my pet peeves. It annoys me when some one starts playing a game without actually playing the game. Let me give you an example of what I mean. My friend's boy was playing a game called Midnight Run. I am not sure if this is the whole title or right title. It is a racing game.

Anyway, he starts playing it. Only he does not race. He just drives around on a motorcycle crashing into cars to make the character fly off. It is funny maybe once. I make him either race or pick a different game. What point is it to play a racing game without racing? That would be like playing a basketball game just to dribble. If I am going to play, I want to try to beat the game not mess around.

Friday, November 14, 2008

Friday, November 14, 2008

I just wanted to take a moment and wish AHS good luck in their football game tonight.

Today I am going to talk about playing video games. I have noticed that some people get really into video games. I am the first to admit that I do too. However I am talking about getting really angry if you lose.

As an example, my friends little boy hates losing when playing video games. Sometimes he throws down the controller. When that happens the game is turned off and he is not allowed to play for the rest of the day.

The way I get into it is I actually talk to the game. "Ugh, stop killing me or grab that stupid ledge" Those are sentences I say a lot. I sometimes cuss at the game too. If I get too frustrated I stop playing for awhile. Remember people it is just a game even if it makes you want to hurl something through your tv.

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Yesterday I talked to my nephew. It was his birthday. He lives in another state. Well, he told me he got a Wii for his birthday.

I will be the first to admit that I don't know much about the Wii. I know it is the most popular game console out there right now. I also know that a lot of it's games are family oriented. Being able to have family time while playing a video game is very cool.

Last night I also learned that the Wii is used as therapy. My sister works in an nursing home. She told me that they use the Wii for physical therapy for some of the residents. That is really neat, using technology to help residents keep there coordination in a fun way. I just wanted to let you know that video games are not just for fun, they can be helpful too.

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Not very happy today. My washer broke. Thank goodness for warrenties. Anyway the stupid thing won't be fixed for 5-10 days. Makes me want to kick it. Grr.

Anyway last night the big fat cat we call Sable decided that he needed to be where all my games are. Needless to say he scattered all of them on the floor. Told the cat that he didn't belong there and he looked at me like I was crazy. As I was picking the games up, I realized it has been awhile since there has been a Jak and Daxter game.

I love that series. I really wish they would come out with a new game. From what I read on line it might be called Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. That is about all I have been able to find. Hopefully, the game, if it is in the works, will be out next year. One of my favorite parts of the games is Daxter's funny comments. I guess I will just have to play one of my old games for now.

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Hello, and good day to you. Today I am going to talk about the PS3. Supposedly, it is supposed to arrive by Friday. We will see. You never know with the mail. Plus I bought it on Ebay.

I have wanted a PS3, well since it came out. Part of the reason, I waited was the high cost. I understand why the cost is so high. The game console has a blue-ray disk reader. That is so cool.

When I was looking for a PS3 to buy I was unsure if I should get one that is backwards compatible. Thinking about it for awhile I finally decided to get one without backwards compatiblitity. While it would be nice to be able to play all my games on one console, I can deal with having to switch back and forth. From what I hear, after you play a game on the PS3 you will not want to go back to playing PS2 games because the graphics are so great.

Truthfully, I don't think that will be the case for me. I have too many games that I love to play on my PS2. I will still keep it and probably buy another one with it dies. I am very surprised that it has lasted this long. I got my PS2 when they first came out and have not had any problems with it. Have a great day.

Monday, November 10, 2008

Hello, and good Monday to you. I don't mind Mondays. Yesterday, I got to watch one of my favorite movies, House on Haunted Hill. It isn't scary to me, I just think it is good. It also doesn't hurt that the actor that plays Eddie is hot. Okay enough of my drool moment.

Today I want to get something I think is ridiculous off my chest. In March of next year, the video game Resident Evil 5 comes out. What I think is ridiculous is some people having a problem with the zombies.

The game is supposed to be set somewhere in Africa. There are some people who are upset because the majority of the zombies are African, or dark colored skin if you may. Hello people what did you expect, purple zombies? Get a grip.

There are far more important things to be upset about than zombies in a game. The last game was set on some remote South American island. Most of the zombies there were Latino. If you find yourself getting upset over the race of zombies in a game you need to re-evaluate your life. Remember, it is fiction and it is supposed to be for fun.

I have all the games in this series. This game is so mine when it comes out. Later.

It is Sunday and the Cowboys are not playing. I really am a fan. Since I was little I have been a fan of the Cowboys. I remember watching with my father even through the really bad years. Hopefully, all the players will be healed by next Sunday.

Since I am not watching football today. I am playing TombRaider: Legend. This series is one of the reasons I became a fan of the Playstation game consoles. I have every game of this series.

I am very anxious for the new game in the series to come out. It is just a few more days. From what I have seen this game is going to be really great. Hopefully it will not be too easy. I hate when a game is too easy to defeat.

Last night my Mavs lost. It bummed me out a little. The game was good though. A good thing happened last night too. Abilene High, I graduated from there, went 10-0. They won the district title. Go Eagles. I was so happy I jumped up and down. All I have to say is good luck in the playoffs.

I am going to have to get me an XBOX 360. I played Fable II yesterday. What I played of it was awesome. I really like the fact that you start as a young kid. From what I hear of this game, you could possibly never play the same game twice depending on your choices. How cool is that! Even though I love playing games, it does it tiring to play the same game over and over again.

The graphics are awesome. Hopefully, I will get more time to play this game. Well, until I get to buy myself one. Keep playing, it is a great stress reliever you know.

It's Friday! I love Friday. Hello, to you. I am new to blogging so please bear with me. My blog will mainly be about video games, but sometimes I will throw in something about my favorite football or basketball teams. Who knows I might sometimes just vent my frustrations here.

Video games. I love them and yes I am female and over 30. They are really fun. Usually, I play adventure games. The only type of game I can't stand is the ones that are in first person views. Headache, that is what they give me. When I play a game I get into it. I sometimes growl at the stupid game. Don't laugh, I know you do it too.

Right now, I only have a PS2, but my PS3 is coming in the mail. How I wish I could hurry it along. I will talk about XBox too. My friends have one and I am over there alot.
